Inspiring Members of the Month- October 2016

Name: Peter Sullivan
Age: 25
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 1.5 years
How you got started at CFSC: Planet fitness wouldn’t let me take my shirt off.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Tire flips, dumbbell curls and Thursday workouts
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Hollow body rock/holds/rolls… make me feel like a fish out of water
Favorite healthy food/meal:  Post workout smoothies!  1 cup milk, ½ cup greek yogurt, vanilla whey, 3 frozen strawberries half a frozen banana…  it’s a staple.  Nom nom.
Favorite part about CFSC: I love the energy I have from training first thing in the morning. I find I have much better days at work on days I workout.  Better focus, sharper, much high energy level, etc.  Great training partners and an enthusiastic coaching staff make getting out of bed for daily body torture much easier! Thanks!
Something we don’t know about you:  Andrea and I ran track together in middle school.  She used to kick my ass at the 200m.  Three knee surgeries for her and 13 years later… I finally have my revenge!
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it:  Compete with yourself and push YOUR boundaries everyday/every workout. You will be amazed at what you are able to achieve in a few weeks.  Don’t ever let the workouts become easy; you will learn to enjoy the suck.

Favorite part about CFSC: The people and the hugs that come with them.
Something we don’t know about you: I had a car accident when I was young that broke C1 & C2 in my neck and caused a major facial laceration. I learned to walk again, then had 2+ years of facial reconstruction surgeries.
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Everything can be scaled or modified, so don’t fall into the trap of not coming because you’re worried about the WOD or one of the movements. I promise good things will happen when you show up!
