July 2017- Member’s of Inspiration

Name: Jessica Adkins
Age: 41
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 2.5 years
How you got started at CFSC: I just moved to the area from West Virginia. I thought it would be fun to try crossfit. I had a cousin who was a member in WV and would tell me all about it. At the time I was an avid biker and was getting bored with it. Instead of investing in a new Trek, I decided to try something new and different. It was the best decision I’ve ever made.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Squat Snatch
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Rowing
Favorite healthy food/meal: Mango anything
Favorite part about CFSC: It’s my happy place. The people/friends I’ve met here are incredible. All the positivity and support I recieve from friends and coaches has changed the way I view things for the better. I love my little family here.
Something we don’t know about you: I am very artistic- I can draw, paint, Etc. I use to weave rugs when I had access to a loom. I also enjoy dill pickle and peanut butter sandwiches.
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: when I first started I was so afraid of making mistakes and looking like an ass. I found someone (Paula Lesso) who basically held my hand until I became comfortable enough to come In on my own. If you are new and intimidated, don’t be, just get in your
car and get here and we will help get you through it no matter how hard it seems.
