Name: Jenny Bruton
Age: 42
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 3.5 years

How you got started at CFSC: For 3+ years I was working out with my girlfriend in her basement in the evenings because she had small children and was unable to get to a gym. Chris wanted more time with me so it was his idea to give CrossFit a shot so (#1) we could see each other more and (#2) we would have more structured workouts.

Favorite CrossFit movement: lunges

Least favorite CrossFit movement: thrusters/wallballs

Favorite healthy food/meal: boiled eggs, hummus, RX bars, MEAT!!! J

Favorite part about CFSC: The community/friendships – we have met so many great people through the gym + the surprises I find in my gym bag!

Something we don’t know about you: I guess it could be that I was bald for my first year + of life and when my hair finally started coming in red everyone was shocked since no one in my immediate family was a redhead.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: I had never touched a barbell prior to joining CFSC. Believe me when I tell you anyone can do it. Anything can be scaled and/or modified and the support and encouragement from the coaches and other members makes this one of the most unique fitness experiences I have ever had!

How long you have been a member at CFSC: 3.5 years

How you got started at CFSC: Well I never really saw Jenny during the week because she was working out with a girlfriend in the evening so we decided to join CFSC so I could see her more and we could work out together…..Plus I never really worked out and wasn’t in  great shape like she was and look at me now….I’m still not in near the shape she is!!!

Favorite CrossFit movement: Cleans, box jumps and anything with running.

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Snatches or the assault bike can’t decide which I hate more.

Favorite healthy food/meal: Tough one maybe grilled chicken or RX bars I need to work on the healthy food part!

Favorite part about CFSC: All the great people. I have made many lifetime friends because of CFSC.

Something we don’t know about you: mmmmm well I have broken my left collar bone 4 times and I am native American – part of the Choctaw tribe in Oklahoma.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Just give it a shot it’s lots of fun and you’ll meet great people don’t worry about what you can or can’t do as the coaches can help you get through any of the workouts!
