How long you have been a member at CFSC: 7 months (this time around)

How you got started at CFSC: Billy suggested that it would be a good idea for me and the kids to start CrossFit, especially for Emilee. He believed that it would help with her anxiety and confidence. He told me that I would have to at least pretend to enjoy it so she would also like it. At first, I was just pretending, but after a few days, I really did start to enjoy it, and I still do!

Favorite CrossFit movement: I love rowing because I’m good at it. I also love deadlifts.

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Overhead squats

Favorite healthy food/meal: I enjoy a good salad with cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, and bell peppers from our garden. After talking with Buffy, I’ve changed my eating habits, and has now become a routine.

Favorite part about CFSC: I really appreciate not having to plan my workouts ahead of time.

When I arrive at the gym, I simply follow the instructions, and the coaches are always available to assist. They give me great recommendations on the appropriate weight to use and how to modify exercises, which both challenge me and set me up for success.

Something we don’t know about you: I enjoy hunting with Billy, and the first deer I shot was with my crossbow.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: CrossFit has the power to transform your life if you let it. There are modifications available for every exercise, and the coaches are there to assist you in finding the right modification for each WOD. They won’t make it excessively difficult, but they also won’t make it too easy. The more you challenge yourself, the more fulfilled you’ll feel afterwards, and you’ll be motivated to keep coming back.

How you got started at CFSC: Seen the Games on ESPN and looked up the nearest box.

Favorite CrossFit movement: Shoulder to overhead, Double-Unders, Muscle Ups (ring). In that order, for anyone that’s looking to program that for me.  

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Burpees paired with any other hinging movement.

Favorite healthy food/meal: STEAK! with a side of a watermelon.

Favorite part about CFSC: Love our coaches and atmosphere. Being around like-minded people that all have a similar goal.

Something we don’t know about you: I enjoy working. Physical work outside, and in the office. Weird I know.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: The hardest part is showing up. Consistency is key.
