How long you have been a member at CFSC: I started PT in June of 2020, so about a year and a half.
How you got started at CFSC: Cathy and her husband Paul are neighbors of ours and had been going to coach-Buffy for quite some time prior to me joining. I saw both of them transform physically and mentally, which got me interested but it wasn’t until Covid hit that I realized I needed to do something different. Paul introduced me to Buffy via text and I set up a session soon after. I still remember the first workout she took me through; an AMRAP with row, pushups, situps, air squats and ring rows. I barely made it through a single round of all the exercises and I realized how walking and riding the Peloton a few times a week wasn’t going to help me reach my goals. After about 6 months of PT, I transitioned to classes and haven’t looked back.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Any barbell overhead movement
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Burpees and pull-ups
Favorite healthy food/meal: I’m still figuring out the diet part of fitness, so I’d say my closest thing to a healthy meal is glazed salmon with rice and air-fried green beans. I’m a sucker for tacos however.
Favorite part about CFSC: The coaches and atmosphere they create for every class.
Something we don’t know about you: I played baseball professionally for the Cleveland Indians farm system back in the late 90’s. I would have loved to have this gym and CrossFit in my 20’s. I hated lifting weights and all of the traditional conditioning that was popular back then just wasn’t very motivating.
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Don’t be afraid to modify any movement and listen to your body.

How long you have been a member at CFSC: 2 years-ish
How you got started at CFSC: I began PT with Buffy 4 years ago and then added CF classes.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Deadlifts, Farmer’s Carry.
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Sooo many choices, but Burpees top the list with Snatches coming in hot in 2nd place.
Favorite healthy food/meal: Salmon in the AirFryer, Overnight Oats, & I’m currently obsessed with various chopped salads on Tik Tok.
Favorite part about CFSC: PT with Buffy, all the coaches and the great people.
Something we don’t know about you: Ask Buffy, she probably knows more about me than I know about myself.
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Start today, not tomorrow or next week. My one regret is that I didn’t start sooner. I sat on the sidelines for years thinking I wasn’t fit/strong enough (the irony!) to do CrossFit or Personal Training. Meanwhile, I wasn’t getting any healthier and the divet in the sofa was only getting bigger. I could have been reaping the rewards of the mental & physical benefits sooner. My husband now works with Buffy and my son has enjoyed KidsCrossfit. CSFC has been integrated into our lives and we are all better for it!
