Members of Inspiration – January 2019

Name: Sarah Rienhardt
Age: 36
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 4 years

How you got started at CFSC: My friend/workout buddy Shiloh and I wanted to try something different. So we joined Planet Fitness for 6 months thinking I had to be “in shape” to start CrossFit. (Don’t do that… that was dumb, I should have just started sooner)

Favorite CrossFit movement: Hang power cleans, abmats/GHD Situps, Deadlifts

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Box jumps and GOOP’S

Favorite healthy food/meal: Chocolate avocado pudding and veggies

Favorite part about CFSC: The people and the coaches. The 5 am crew and Buffy makes it worth waking up at 4 :). Lori and the 5K groups- I really value the friendships that I have made over the years here, I really couldn’t have ask for a better group of people.  You are all awesome!

Something we don’t know about you: After collage, I had a chance to do some traveling and stayed in South Africa for 6 months rehabilitating penguins and working with the rangers on monitoring/protecting the elephant and lions population. It was a pretty fun and unique experience.

I’m also a Syracuse fan, GO CUSE’ 🙂

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Show up with an intent to learn something new. Have a positive attitude and most importantly have fun!

Name: Christian Disher
Age: 41
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 6 years

How you got started at CFSC: A friend suggested I try it. After being bored with the typical gym, I thought I would see what it is about and have been here ever since.

Favorite CrossFit movement: Anything on the rig.

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Not sure it is a “Crossfit” movement, but the assault bike really sucks.

Favorite healthy food/meal: Grilled chicken

Favorite part about CFSC: The coaches and members. The coaches get to know your strengths and weaknesses and will push you to get better.

Something we don’t know about you: I taught myself how to swim (YouTube) this year and completed three triathlons.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Give it a try and listen to the coaches. Don’t get frustrated or discouraged if you are not doing the prescribed workout, just try to be better than you were yesterday.
