Members of Inspiration: March 2023

Name: Bryce Baxley
Age: 16
How long you have been a member at CFSC: a year and one month

How you got started at CFSC: I have always loved being active and playing sports.  My dad started doing CrossFit first and I wanted to try it and instantly fell in love with it

Favorite CrossFit movement: Handstand walks!

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Thrusters

Favorite healthy food/meal: A good medium rare steak with mashed potatoes and kale salad. Ooh, I also like a chocolate protein shake after a workout

Favorite part about CFSC: The community and the people I am surrounded by every day in addition to how encouraging the coaches and other members are. It feels like home and always puts a smile on my face!

Something we don’t know about you: This winter marks the 14th year I have snow skied… yes that means I started skiing when I was 3

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Go for it! Once you walk in the door and feel the environment, you will see why we love it here. Keep showing up for yourself day after day with an open mind. Be willing to try new things and fall in love with the process of progress!

Name: Jackson Jager
Age: 19 (will be 20 in July)
How long have you been a member at CFSC: I first started 3 or 4 years ago with Endurance classes. I got back into Crossfit sometime last year in the summer.

How you got started at CFSC: I got into CrossFit thanks to my dad. When I stopped doing Track he said that I had to keep exercising somehow so he “nudged” me into CrossFit.

Favorite CrossFit movement: Running, I ran in track so I can take it.

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Strict pull ups. After a couple they show you who’s boss.

Favorite healthy food/meal: Egg, cheese, ham, toasted bagel sandwich. I usually have it for breakfast, it’s filling. I like it, but I need to find another breakfast to make.

Favorite part about CFSC: The fact that I’m exercising is good. Being able to ask the coach if I’m doing a movement correctly is a godsend.

Something we don’t know about you: I can speak German.  I’ve taken it since kindergarten. I’m not perfect though.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: It can be a lot sometimes and it’s easy to compare yourself to others, especially the ones who’ve been here more than you. Just focus on yourself and keep moving. Also when someone is giving you advice, listen to them, they know their stuff.
