Members of Inspiration: May 2025

Name: Nipun Dixit
Age: 40
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 22 months

How you got started at CFSC: Through a friend who had joined while we were looking to kickstart our fitness journey in a traditional gym setting.

Favorite CrossFit movement: Squats

Least favorite CrossFit movement: Cycling

Favorite healthy food/meal: I eat everything and can cook most of it myself! Recently I have fallen in love with a dish I invented – Sprouts bowl (Quinoa, Sprouts, veggies, potato, and dressing)

Favorite part about CFSC: No judgment, no mirrors, no downtime to flex muscles and make others feel miserable! Just pure hard work with free weights. Great community.

Something we don’t know about you: I am an avid writer and love to write about life, people, and relationships.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: There’s no substitute for hard work and discipline. That’s exactly why many people never take the first step toward improving their health—the process that actually works is often slow, repetitive, and, yes, boring. But here’s the truth: discipline always beats motivation.

Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: My perspective is a little different from Nipun’s—and that’s completely natural. We’re two very different people. I don’t have a quote or a perfect line that qualifies as “wisdom.” What I do have is my story, and I tell it from the perspective of a woman and a mom to a 5-year-old.

I’ve always been mentally strong and determined when it comes to things I want to achieve. Once I commit, I rarely let doubt creep in. But health? That was always in the background—ignored, really—because on the surface, I didn’t look like someone who needed to work out. I’d never run a mile, lifted weights, done yoga, or followed any fitness routine.

That changed after my pregnancy. My body started showing signs I couldn’t ignore—changes I didn’t like. My immunity dropped, and I began to feel weaker mentally. Every day I’d look in the mirror and think, something’s got to change. But between work and home life, I felt like there was no time left for me. Or at least, that’s what I told myself.

Then a common friend of ours started CrossFit, and the difference in both his body and mindset was obvious. That planted the seed. I had that ‘enough is enough’ moment and decided to act. And once I made up my mind, there was no turning back. Even on days when I feel off—when the thought of lifting weights or doing conditioning feels like too much—I just show up. And the moment I walk into the gym and get moving, I remember why I’m doing this.

This one sliver of my day, this gym time, is mine. Just mine. I’m not willing to give it up or slack in it. And as my coach can tell you, once I’m in, I give it everything I’ve got in those 30 minutes.

So, is there “wisdom” in all this? Maybe not. But I’m still young, and when I look around the gym, on trails, or at races, I see women older than me—braver than me—defying age, pushing through illness, and rising above the physical toll of motherhood. That inspires me. It reminds me I have so much more to learn, so much more to give.

To become a better version of myself—for my family, and most importantly, for me.
