Name: Lucy Baratta
Age: 57
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 4 years
How you got started at CFSC: I started a new job nearby and being a gym rat had to find a new gym close by. I’d been to several different gyms and kept driving by the sign and thought I’d give it a try. I walked in and saw Brian and told him I have 30 minutes to work out and after taking the initial class I got hooked with the energy of the people and classes.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Don’t hate… I love Burpees, yes Burpees its perfect for short people you throw yourself down and get back up.
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Overhead squat, need I say more, it’s a heavy thing going over my head.
Favorite healthy food/meal: I’ve recently discovered Mahi-Mahi so I love that with a side of veggies!
Favorite part about CFSC: I get bored fast so the energy the coaches and people have keep me coming back as well as TRL. The CrossFit community is full of amazing people and they are even more outside of the gym.
Something we don’t know about you: I used to perform in an amateur Jazz dance group in Boston. We’d perform in small places in Harvard Square.
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: The first thing that goes through my mind is how am I going to do this, how many reps, how can I go unbroken, then when it’s too late and you can’t change your mind the clock starts and you have to just do it…so just do it.
