A tweak a week.
I was at a business mastermind in San Diego a few weeks ago and one of the presenters was discussing habits, and the difficulty of making changes.
It reminded me of when we meet people that want to get healthy but aren’t ready to make too many sacrifices in order to get there.
I get it.
Change is hard, and unknown.
If you knew the results of your efforts would result in the changes you want with 100% certainty, it would be easy, and everyone would be doing it.
But, it’s not.
So, instead of looking at what seems monumental, I’m going to suggest, “A tweak a week”.
One week it’s taking walks after dinner.
Next week it’s waking up early to exercise in your garage for 20 minutes.
Then it’s reading for 30min before bed instead of watching TV.
Week 4, and you’re going to bed earlier to get 8 hours of sleep.
Fifth week, now you’re making healthier choices for breakfast.
Etc, etc, etc.
Think about it.
If you make a tweak a week, and 50% of the time you don’t stick with the change, by the end of one year, you could have 26 new healthy habits!
Just in time to make some big changes in 2025.
