Ozempic and the overnight millionaire

Ozempic and the overnight millionaire.

We have all heard the stories of the professional athlete that have millions of dollars and goes broke in just a few year.

There are many stories of people who have won large sums of money in the lottery and go broke within years.

So what does being an overnight millionaire have to do with Ozempic and these new weight loss drugs on the market?

These athletes and lottery winners lose all their money overnight because they didn’t learn the tools to take care of their instant influx of cash.

The person that earned the money over time, will often will have a higher value for the effort and work that goes into having that money. In addition, they see the length of time it took to earn the the money.

It makes them a much less likely person that’ll blow through their money quickly. Dollar after dollar, year after year; they saw it grow.

The person putting in some hours each week with exercise and making more consistent and better nutritional choices knows what the hard work feels like. Similar to the person that earned their millions of dollars over many years.

The sacrifices that were made for both the person saving their money, and the person in the gym; and their lessons learned are reasons why both of those people are likely to keep their changes, and their money over time.

The overnight millionaire, like the person that thought weight loss drugs were the “easy way” have a higher likelihood to return to how live was before they started taking the drug.

The struggles, lessons and hard work to reach that goal will serve as a strong reminder to keep with the habits that got them there.

Time will tell, and I hope I’m wrong. That people opting for weight loss drugs will also learn to exercise more and improve their nutrition in order to maintain or further reach health and fitness goals.

Over the last 15 years working with people that want to lose weight, I’ve just seen it too many times…..the person on the fad diet, or “get fit quick” plan gains back all the weight they lose, and then some.

Good habits, consistency and some discipline is what’s needed for the long haul to get and stay healthy as we age.

Do you agree, disagree? I’d love to hear it!
