Strength Training & Ozempic

Strength training & Ozempic.

There’s no escaping Ozempic and other GLP-1’s coming to market.

HOWEVER, people need to know what’s happening to their bodies when they take these medications. (Hint: It’s not all bad)

The weight loss can be life changing and really help people, I’m 100% all for that….I’d be lying if at first I thought that it’s a the lazy way out, but I’m seeing it differently now.

In recent months, we’ve partnered with medical weight loss businesses in Charlotte because their clients need our help, and the best doctors perscribing these medications know that, and MORE importantly discuss this with their patients.

This study shows that 25-39% of weight loss with these drugs is muscle. That is 2x more than non drug, caloric restriction methods.

Muscle loss increases risks of falls/fractures, lowers metabolism, increase risk of chronic disease and a general reduced capacity for daily activities.

If you, or someone you know is taking these drugs, and are not adding a strength training routine (ie. building muscle, not adding cardio) we can help. We’d be happy to discuss our plan with the doctor overseeing any treatment to make sure you’re getting the best care for particular needs.
