It’s not the next hot IPO of 2021. It’s not Tesla stock or real estate either.
It’s your health. Your physical, emotional and mental health.
If we learned anything in 2020, I hope it was the importance of investing in our health. Too many people put themselves and their health last on the priority list.
The average American spends $14.40/wk on coffee.
The average American car payment on a used car is $391/mon. And they keep a car for only 6 years, which also happens to be the average length of a car loan.
The average American that drinks, spends approximately $200/mon on alcohol.
Parents on average spend 5 hours each week driving their kids to and from sports, school, events, etc.
Think about those numbers for a moment. I’m not telling you that you shouldn’t enjoy things, but let’s be honest for a second….the majority of Americans are both overweight and in financial debt.
The top two reasons people give for not exercising or eating well is that they don’t have time and it’s too expensive. That’s untrue in almost all cases. The truth that no one wants to acknowledge is that they are wasting time and money on other things that make them feel good, or look good (usually to impress people they don’t even like!).
Everyone is searching for the quick fix; the “overnight success”. The unfortunate truth is that all the people you see, and say, “I want to look like them”; work hard in the gym and the kitchen. It’s consistency and it’s boring. It’s not going to fill up Instagram feeds and impress everyone.
We need to wake up!
Even before COVID-19, people were sicker, heavier and more depressed than ever before.
It’s time we make ourselves the # 1 priority. It’s not selfish to do that. It’s selfish to NOT do that! Your family and friends want to keep you around. At least, we hope, most of them do! You want to be around to spend time with your family and friends. Not only time, but you also want to be able to do things on your terms. You do not want to live most years of your life as a prisoner in your own body that you’ve ignored for decades.
Your health is your most valuable asset. Please start to act accordingly.
