What Can You Control?

Unless you have been living on another planet, you will likely agree that these last 4 weeks on Earth have been crazy. Fortunately for our gym members and staff, many have chosen to continue to prioritize their fitness and nutrition as we’ve moved all of our personal programs and classes virtual and have increased our touch points with members ten-fold.

Instead of being located at 9301 Forsyth Park Drive in Charlotte, NC; we’re everywhere now.

I had a choice. And so do you.

We can wallow in self pity over how the last few weeks, and next few weeks or months play out, or we can look at what in our life is under our control and plow headfirst into those things. Thus minimizing our energies on what is out of our control.

The majority of people spend their days, even prior to COVID-19 lockdowns complaining their days away about things they cannot control. It’s depressing for them, and for friends and family to be around them.

You cannot control;
-the weather
-how people think and act
-the stock market
-the housing market
-shelter in place mandates
-traffic
-the past
-the future
-other people’s happiness

You can, however control;

-how you respond to people
-your happiness
-your attitude
-your thoughts
-who your friends are
-what you read
-what you eat
-how often you exercise
-how many times you smile

Use your time wisely. Be sure to take care of yourself, so you can best take care of others.

This change in mindset will take time and practice. Just like learning to ride a bike, or play the piano. You’re going to fall. You will make mistakes.

However, I promise, with practice, you will become a happier, healthier person.
