February 2018- Member’s of Inspiration

Name: Andrea Sullivan
Age: 26
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 3 years this month!
How you got started at CFSC: We used to be members at CrossFit Huntersville, but then we moved to Steele Creek and that’s where it all began!!!
Favorite CrossFit movement: Back Squat, Front Squat, HSPU
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Running!!!!!!
Favorite healthy food/meal: Sushi
Favorite part about CFSC: The workouts (most of the time), the coaches, the members! I love it all!
Something we don’t know about you: My nickname is “Stompy.” According to Peter (my husband) when I walk around the upstairs it sounds like someone is “hammering on the roof”, so that’s where Stompy came from!
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Go for it! I had 3 knee surgeries prior to starting crossfit and was told I would never be able to run again. Although I do not enjoy running, I CAN! I 100% believe it is because of crossfit. It gives you the ability to do things you never thought you could!
Name: Joel Taylor
Age: 46
How long you have been a member at CFSC: February will be 1 year.
How you got started at CFSC: Googled CrossFit gyms near me.  Luckily it was CFSC.  I came by and talked with Brian. I was hooked!
Favorite CrossFit movement: Bar Muscle Ups
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Airdyne and Over Head Squats
Favorite healthy food/meal: Any type of chicken or steak dish with veggies.   Also, any type of Mexican meal that my wife cooks.  Probably not super healthy but definitely delicious!
Favorite part about CFSC: I really enjoy knowing that each WOD session is going have a coach.  Having a coach there every time pushing and making sure you are working correctly is a nice part of CrossFit.  The members are all positive and encouraging to each other.  Really nice to see.
Something we don’t know about you: I have operated my own business in Fort Mill for the last 9 years. Almost forgot. I love homemade Mexican food.
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: I would tell them to give it a chance.  It’s definitely hard and challenging but also rewarding.  If you don’t want to be challenged, then CrossFit may not be for you.  Just remember to move at your own pace and CFSC does a great job at making sure the members are within their own skill set to avoid injuries.  If you work hard you will see results!
