Name: Stuthi Rao
Age: 30
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 1 Year 2 months
How you got started at CFSC: I had recently moved to the Steele Creek area and was in search of a new gym. I happened upon CFSC, and it turned out to be the best decision ever!
Favorite CrossFit movement: Cleans
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Overhead squats
Favorite healthy food/meal: Tofu Scramble with lots of veggies
Favorite part about CFSC: The community and my 6:30pm crew
Something we don’t know about you: I am a hiking enthusiast and love visiting national parks. So far, I have had the pleasure of exploring 24 of them, and wish to set foot in all 63 eventually
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: If you’re just starting out with CrossFit, don’t sweat it! You’re now part of a SUPER COOL community where everybody’s got your back. And don’t worry about learning all the moves straight away! Take it easy, enjoy the ride, and prepare to rock at being you!
Name: Nick Campbell
Age: 35
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 5 years!
How you got started at CFSC: Two-fold: 1.) I really wanted to learn how to do a muscle up and handstand walk since I thought those were so cool. 2.) Tired of working out alone and want to try group classes to mix social aspect with workout
Favorite CrossFit movement: Muscle ups, barbell/ dumbbell movements
Least favorite CrossFit movement: anything I don’t focus on improving; things that are rough on the knees
Favorite healthy food/meal: I rotate this, but recently making acai bowls in the morning with acai pack, blueberries, yogurt, sunflower butter, walnuts, granola and sometimes chia seeds or flax seeds
Favorite part about CFSC: The people. Reason I joined was not wanting to workout alone. The coaches and members make this place great. Without them, the workouts are just that workouts.
Something we don’t know about you: My dad, brother, sister-in-law, nephew, niece all live in England. But no British accent for me…
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: The hardest part is just getting started. Whether you are new or have had to take a break due to life or injury, just get moving. Also, don’t be too hard on yourself. Most of us are not going to be games athletes. Enjoy the process. Be grateful for what your body can do. Not what it can’t.
