Meet the Macros

If you’ve been looking for ways to improve your health and fitness for any amount of time, you’ve probably been bombarded with various “diets” that promise to help you reach your goals, lose weight, or hit those PRs.

Companies and products have come and gone over the years claiming to provide the magic pill, sometimes literally; needed to help you reach your goals.

And many of them will help you achieve that, but at what cost?

The difference between our program is that we are focused NOT only on helping you reach your weight loss, PRs, and body composition goals, BUT also disease prevention.

Our program focuses on behavior modifications, to help you create new patterns to replace the behaviors that got you where you are now. We promote eating a balance of the three macronutrients (carbohydrates, protein, fat) spread out throughout your day and appropriately around your exercise routine by eating real foods. We are NOT just counting macros.

Why does it matter, you might ask? What’s the use of dropping weight, looking great or hitting a PR, but later in life developing a disease like diabetes or metabolic syndrome. Taking years off or reducing your quality of life later.

The Cancer Prevention Research Centre found correlation between health behaviors related to chronic disease prevention and management, particularly in physical activity vs sedentary behavior and diet, and through them, weight control.

In other words, just because “Gummy Bears” fits in your carbohydrate goal for the day, does not make it healthy. The short-term benefit of “meeting my macros” will have greater long-term risk to cellular health.

Instead we encourage you to have a “treat” now and then because you’ve worked hard, while also understand the benefits of less processed and refined foods that will not only play a role in your weight and body composition goals, but also long term disease prevention.
