Name: Larry Kuhn
Age: 49
How long you have been a member at CFSC: 6 1/2 years
How you got started at CFSC: Regular gym wasn’t doing it for me and a friend mentioned CrossFit. Saw the sign for CFSC and pulled in to check it out and never have looked back.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Push Press/JerkLeast favorite CrossFit movement: Double Unders
Favorite healthy food/meal: Grilled Salmon and Veggies
Favorite part about CFSC: I know it sounds cliché but the people, coaches, and motivating environment. I never thought an hour of physical and mental torture would be one of the things I looked forward to most in my day!
Something we don’t know about you: I’ve had 4 lower back surgeries over the past 25+ years but none since 2012 which coincides with me starting at CFSC. I was also taking blood pressure meds which I have now been free of for 6+ years.
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Check your ego at the door and listen to the coaches and your body. There is always a modification or alternate exercise if something isn’t feeling right. The key is to just keep moving and improving.

How long you have been a member at CFSC: 3 years in September
How you got started at CFSC: I was looking for a bootcamp workout and I saw the Crossfit Steele Creek sign. I wondered, “What is crossfit?” I researched crossfit workouts and it appeared to be a bootcamp workout to me. Later, I saw a coupon in the Whitehall magazine and took advantage of it, and here I am.
Favorite CrossFit movement: Deadlifts and Back squats
Least favorite CrossFit movement: Anything with a burpee in it.
Favorite healthy food/meal: Any grilled seafood
Favorite part about CFSC: I like the variety in the workouts. I love the coaches and the people.
Something we don’t know about you: I cannot be found on social media. I am a stickler about my first name being spelled correctly. When I am out of town I will find a CrossFit box and workout.
Words of wisdom for people who are new to CrossFit or interested in trying it: Don’t give up – do not let the soreness discourage you. The soreness will eventually get better, I promise. Trying anything new is difficult and challenging in the beginning. However, it is well worth it in the end. Also, age and your level of fitness don’t matter – JOIN!
